- Kim Kardashian shared a photo of herself in a corset.
- This prompted Jameela Jamil to call her “delusional.”
- But is Jamil correct in her assessment?
If you believe Jameela Jamil, Kim Kardashian is delusional.
After the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star shared a video of her getting fitted for a corset, Jamil shared her unsolicited opinion.
But is Jamil correct in her assessment?
Is Kim Kardashian Delusional…Or Just A Celebrity?
No one here is a Kim Kardashian fan. To be clear, she is far from a celebrity in the truest sense, in that we don’t know exactly what her “talent” is.
However, what really was the big deal in what she shared with her fans?
Kardashian shared that she enjoyed the corset so much, she flew all the way to London to have another made. It’s consumptive consumerism, to be sure. Excessive? Definitely.
But Jameela Jamil — who is, these days, more known for her big-mouth gossiping than her actual acting work — shared her unsolicited opinion about how Kim Kardashian was “delusional.”
Jameela Jamil Is Not A Doctor
Jameela Jamil shared her ruminations on Instagram.
I’ve received over 1000 DMs asking me to address this. The reason I didn’t jump on it immediately isn’t because I don’t think the post was damaging and disappointing. I do. It’s because the fact that you’re all messaging me about it, shows my work is done. I havent been trying to cancel Kim Kardashian. I was always trying to arm YOU with the knowledge to recognize for YOURSELVES that this is a bullshit expectation of women, developed by the patriarchy. If YOU know that it’s problematic, reductive and irresponsible for her to perpetuate such a heavily impossible beauty standard to her impressionable fans… then you’re empowered and conscious and don’t need me.
Well, alrighty then.
Except Jamil is not a doctor, and she can’t diagnose someone with “delusions” when she’s never even had a conversation with them.
What’s more, by being this over-the-top about a photo that Kim Kardashian shared on Instagram, Jamil only proved that she was “pressed,” not that she “had a job.”
It’s time we stop trying to tear down women for merely existing. And whether we like it or not, that includes Kim Kardashian.
